alhambra in winter
As a cultural guide, we can give you some tips for your visit to the Alhambra and its surroundings in winter.
-
Tickets must be purchased online on the official website and it is not necessary to validate them before entering the Nasrid Palaces. However, it is best to have your printed ticket and ID handy, just in case.
-
Going at noon is a good option in winter, since the sun helps to make the visit more pleasant.
-
To visit the Nasrid Palaces, it is advisable to be at the assigned time and then visit the rest of the places, such as the Generalife and the Alcazaba.
-
Regarding the order of visits, I recommend visiting the Alcazaba first, then the Jardines del Partal and finally the Generalife. But this depends on your time of entry to the Nasrid Palaces.
-
To walk from the center to the Alhambra, the most recommended street is Gomérez, which is located in Plaza Nueva.
-
Once the visit is over, to tour the Albaicín neighborhood and the San Miguel viewpoint, you can take the Cuesta de los Chinos, which starts from Rey Chico.
-
Other places that I recommend you visit near the Alhambra are the Puerta de la Justicia, the Palace of Carlos V with its two free museums, the Parador, the church of Santa María de la Alhambra, and the viewpoint of San Nicolás.
-
As for visiting the Albaicín neighborhood and the San Miguel Alto viewpoint in a single day, I recommend taking a taxi to San Miguel Alto before sunset and then walking down to the San Nicolás viewpoint.
I hope these tips will be useful for you to enjoy your visit to the Alhambra and its surroundings to the fullest. Have a good trip!
